The Adolf Illig SB 53C - DIN is a used skin and blister packaging machine (universal vacuum thermoforming machine). It was developed for the economical production of transparent blister packaging and for the direct skin packaging of products onto cardboard backing cards.

Typical applications of the used skin and blister packaging machine
The SB 53C is designed as a flexible universal machine for small to medium production volumes and covers two main packaging processes:
1. Skin packaging:
The product is placed directly onto a coated cardboard backing card. The heated film, typically highly transparent Surlyn or PE film, is drawn tightly around the product by vacuum like a second skin and sealed to the cardboard.
- Tools & hardware: Screws, drill bits, hand tools and hinges
- Household & hobby products: Stationery, kitchen utensils and small electrical components
- Spare parts: Automotive and mechanical engineering components requiring protection against dirt and corrosion
2. Blister production (forming of packaging trays):
The machine forms transparent plastic trays, for example from PVC or PET, which can subsequently be filled and sealed with a backing card or film.

- Pharmaceutical & medical technology: Protected storage of medical instruments or small devices for non-sterile applications
